- Jack Grealish spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Everton.
- He has continued his recovery from a foot injury with the Toffees.
- The winger is nearing a return to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton have made their intentions clear that they would like to see Jack Grealish return to Hill Dickinson Stadium for the 2026-27 campaign.
After being named the Premier League’s August Player of the Month in just his first few matches for the Toffees, the winger has reignited his once stagnant career.
A season-ending foot injury stunted Everton’s push for European qualification, but the Englishman insisted that he continued his recovery on Merseyside, instead of heading back to parent club Manchester City.
Both Grealish and the Blues have benefited from each other, and this relationship has a strong chance of continuing.
Manchester City open to letting Jack Grealish leave
City are facing a transitional summer, as legendary manager Pep Guardiola has ended his time at the Etihad Stadium, with his former assistant Enzo Maresca, looking likely to takeover.
The ex-Chelsea boss will be blessed with an array of quality, so he will attempt to narrow down his team with several outgoings expected.
Grealish is one man who appears to be surplus to requirements at City, and would be free leave the club on loan or on a permament basis, according to The Athletic.
His first two years in Sky Blue, saw the England international become a star man in a side that went on to win outstanding treble in 2023, but the following seasons saw him fall out of favour with Guardiola, and eventually made his way to Merseyside in a hope to find regular minutes again.
The ex-Aston Villa captain’s contract with City is set to expire at the end of the upcoming season.
Jack Grealish and Everton are made for each other
As the summer window creeps ever closer, it seems like a matter of when, more than if, with regard to a Grealish return in royal blue.
It is uncertain whether he will head back to Merseyside on another loan deal, or on a peramanent transfer, but the 30-year-old has settled nicely with the Toffees, and playing once more for Everton is beneficial for both parties.
With Everton hoping to secure a return to Europe for the first time since 2017, they will be overjoyed by the prospect of Grealish controlling their attack once more.
And as a home European Championships looms in the distance, the winger will be focused on building good form in the run-up to this, in an effort to break back into the England national team.
Everton’s end to the 2025-26 season was shrouded by negativity, so the news of Grealish returning to the club would inject some much-needed positivity.
