West Ham weigh up summer loan move for Toffees’ winger Dwight McNeil

West Ham United have registered concrete interest in securing a summer loan deal for Everton winger Dwight McNeil, according to a fresh transfer update from a reliable club insider

ExWHUEmployee via OneFootball. The 26-year-old wide midfielder has slipped down the pecking order at the Hill Dickinson Stadium following an underwhelming season under David Moyes, which yielded just one Premier League assist.

While Crystal Palace saw a permanent £20mn winter move collapse at the eleventh hour, the Hammers are now exploring a temporary arrangement to bring the former Burnley man to the capital.

The ongoing rebuild at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

This prospective move introduces an interesting dynamic between the two clubs.

With Everton strongly linked with a summer move for West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen, McNeil could effectively find himself moving in the opposite direction to fill the void out wide on their right flank. Bowen, too, was an inverted winger who was happier cutting in on his left foot.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side faces an immediate rebuild in the Championship, and they value McNeil’s top-flight ability and quality left-footed delivery, along with his Championship experience at Burnley

However, any negotiations will hinge entirely on whether the player is prepared to drop out of the Premier League at this stage of his career.
