Everton are one of five Premier League clubs credited with an interest in FC Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju.
According to Transfer News Live, citing reports from Denmark, David Moyes’ side are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old alongside Newcastle United, Leeds United, Fulham and Brentford.
The report claims Midtjylland have already turned down a bid worth €25 million (£21.6m) and would only entertain offers that break the club’s transfer record.
Dju is also said to have fully recovered from the knee injury that interrupted his progress last season.
Everton’s search for attacking reinforcements has shown little sign of slowing this summer. While the club have strengthened in several areas, adding another forward remains part of Moyes’ plans before the transfer window closes.
Dju enjoyed a productive campaign in Denmark last season, scoring 22 goals in 34 games despite his injury setback. Comfortable through the middle or from a wider position, the Guinea-Bissau international has attracted interest from across the Premier League.
Whether Everton decide to test Midtjylland’s resolve remains to be seen.
Other Prem teams interested
The Danish champions are under no obvious pressure to sell and, if the reports are accurate, have already demonstrated they will not part with the striker unless their valuation is met.
With Newcastle, Brentford, Fulham and Leeds also linked, any club hoping to sign Dju is likely to face strong competition over the coming weeks.
At this stage, there is no suggestion Everton have made an offer, with reports indicating only that they are among the clubs monitoring his situation.
