David Unsworth has revealed that Dennis Adeniran has been permanently promoted to the first-team under Marco Silva.
The England youth international has been on the precipice of promotion alongside Anthony Gordon and Lewis Gibson for Unsworth’s Under-23s side, and it seems as though the former Fulham man has got the nod.
Everton signed Adeniran in 2017, with the midfielder having come through the academy set-up at Craven Cottage. Adeniran played five senior games for the Cottagers, scoring on his debut in the League Cup.

Now the 20-year old has followed in the footsteps of Tom Davies, Jonjoe Kenny and Beni Baningime in earning a spot in the first-team squad, ahead of potentially making his debut soon.
Responding on social media, many Everton fans were happy to see the club continue to promote young talent.

Some other fans weren’t so keen to see Adeniran get his shot however, with those fans more concerned about the current squad.

Of course it is great to see Everton continue to promote youth talent, especially when they’re so highly regarded. So many promising players haven’t made it, which inevitably puts more pressure on those who do get their shot.
Hopefully Adeniran can follow in the footsteps of those like Davies and make an impact in the opportunities he gets. Davies has stagnated now but many forget that he was a burst of fresh energy when he made his breakthrough, as was Baningime, so hopefully Adeniran can have a similar impact.
