Barcelona to buy back Gerard Deulofeu from Everton

Gerard Deulofeu is set to be bought back by Barcelona which will see Everton receive a fee of £10.5million for the winger, according to The Times.

Deulofeu failed to impress under Ronald Koeman and Everton will receive more than double what they paid for the youngster two years ago.

The winger scored four goals in 17 appearances for AC Milan last season, as he spent the second half of the season on loan at the Serie A side.

Barcelona could have bought back Deulofeu last summer for £6.3million but were reluctant to do so. It now appears that Deulofeu’s appearances for Milan have changed the Catalan club’s mind as they prepare to trigger their buy-back option on the player.

Deulofeu is a graduate of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, first moving to Goodison Park on loan under the management of Roberto Martinez back in 2013, before rejoining in a permanent move in 2015.

Deulofeu was reported as not wanting to return to the Nou Camp earlier this month, although the situation has obviously changed, with the 23-year old seemingly foregoing his option to veto the move.
