However, unfortunately for Everton, the player’s performances on Merseyside are likely to attract more interest before the end of the season.
Everton are keen to wrap up a permanent deal for the Portuguese midfielder after the instant impact he has had since joining the club.
A number of teams have been credited with an interest, with Barcelona now said to be holding out for an auction-style sale in the summer.
With Everton not having an option to buy as part of the loan agreement and Gomes impressing in England, Barcelona would be able to hold out for big money at the end of the season.
