Bolasie vents on Twitter – Fan Reactions

Yannick Bolasie is a player who, by and large, hasn’t found himself on the receiving end of Everton fans’ anger since his signing from Crystal Palace in 2016.

Of course, the occasional average performance drew frustrations, but unlike players such as Kevin Mirallas, who received personal criticism directed towards his character, many Everton fans simply felt sympathy for Bolasie, having to live up to expectations set by a high transfer fee and having fallen to a devastating injury.

However, the DR Congo forward’s latest cryptic tweet has seen the 30-year old come into the firing line.

It was reported over the weekend that Bolasie had rejected a loan offer from Russian side CSKA Moscow, and with the player having previously criticised the racial abuse in the Russian Premier League, that decision came as no surprise.

However the forward then took to Twitter to seemingly vent his frustrations at Everton, saying the club were “playing with [his] career like LEGO”.

Twitter: Rah man are out here playing with my career like LEGO ?? (@YannickBolasie)

Unsurprisingly, a number of Everton fans didn’t take too kindly to the comments, and several responded to Bolasie to vent their frustrations at the winger’s seemingly new-found attitude.

Read Everton Verdict

What is it with wingers at Everton having bad attitudes? I echo the sentiment from many of the tweets above in that Bolasie has some nerve criticising a club who, at least publicly, has stood by him and backed him to succeed throughout his time on Merseyside.

Of course, his injury was unfortunate. It derailed his Everton career, and who knows what he could have done for the Blues had he not suffered that injury, however there is no point dwelling on what could have been.

Simply put, Bolasie would have no shortage of interest clubs if he really wanted to leave. Whether that is by joining a less-than thrilling league, or by lowering his wage demands, I refuse to accept that the forward couldn’t find an interested club if he desperately wanted to leave. And if he is in the mood to vent about Everton on Twitter, then the sooner he goes the better.
