Burton Albion pulled off one of the shocks of the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday night, dumping Bournemouth out following a 2-0 victory.
There was plenty of drama at the Pirelli Stadium last night, as the floodlights turned off on three separate occasions.
Referee John Busby declared the match abandoned following the third occasion, only to learn from the Football League that a game can only be abandoned if the total delay equals 30 minutes.
Everton’s interest in the game came in additional time, of which there were 28 minutes, where loanee Nathan Broadhead scored the Brewers’ second goal of the game.
Having signed for the League One club on a season-long loan this summer, Broadhead has three goals in eight appearances for the club across all competitions.
With the young starlet performing well for Burton, many Everton fans reacted positively to his continued development in Staffordshire.

Broadhead has really taken to his loan spell with Burton like a duck to water, and that is proof that the loan system certainly works.
A promising young talent, it was crucial that Broadhead got first-team minutes this season but to see him actually impacting games in a large way, that is the additional cherry on top.
It is hard to predict with players and loan spells such as these whether there is any clear path into the first team for Broadhead, but hopefully he’ll continue raising his performance levels to give himself the best chance to impress if he is called upon.
