Burnley are in advanced talks to sign Everton right-back Jonjoe Kenny, according to Football Insider.
The Toffees academy product looks set to join Sean Dyche’s Clarets, with both Premier League sides locked in deep negotiations.
The 23-year-old has previously enjoyed a loan spell in the Bundesliga with Schalke, but he seems to be an unwanted man at Goodison Park.
Carlo Ancelotti still trusts him enough to feature in certain games but he is seen by the manager as more of an emergency or rotational option for non-essential moments.
Kenny has made just eight appearances in all competitions this season, indicating his relatively unwanted status at Goodison Park. The defender appears to be one of many peripheral squad players to have been identified by the club as part of a proposed winter clearout in order to offload wages, command fees and minimise losses at the club.
A source close to Burnley has indicated that Everton and the Lancashire-based club are now at a stage in talks where a deal appears to be likely. The Clarets are understood to have explored both a permanent and a loan deal for the player, whilst Everton value Jonjoe Kenny at £7m.

Whilst some fans may rue that their home-grown talent never had a strong chance to hold down a spot at right-back, a deal does make sense.
The former England under-21 international can look forward to a fresh start at Burnley and to impress in a league with which he is already familiar.
Without the pressure of a huge price tag or an undignified end to life at Goodison Park, Kenny can hold his head high over getting a break into senior football at Everton.
