It is now being reported by Sky Sports News reporter Alan Myers that Oumar Niasse is no longer being considered by Burnley.
Sky Sports News (via Transfer Centre) reported this morning that the Clarets could consider the Senegal striker if they look to replace Nahki Wells, who signed for Bristol City on Thursday, before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
However, it is now being reported that it is unlikely the 29-year old will end up at Turf Moor, with Sky Sports reporting on their live feed that Burnley have confirmed that Niasse “is not on Sean Dyche’s list”.
Niasse has been used sparingly this season, with the Senegal international largely considered to be surplus to requirements by Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, having only played 19 minutes of first team football while scoring a measly 5.97 average rating on WhoScored.
The Athletic reported yesterday that Everton had hoped to shift both Niasse and Cuco Martina before the end of the transfer window, as they look to trim their mountainous wage bill.
The earlier news that claimed Burnley were to consider signing Niasse had piqued the interest of many Everton supporters, who have now been left disappointed by this update to the story.
