Departing Loanee Thanks Everton Fans For Support

Christian Atsu has left the Toffees and returned to parent club Chelsea after his loan deal expired.

Atsu’s loan deal didn’t work out as fans of both Everton and Chelsea would have hoped. The Ghanaian made fifteen appearances for Roberto Martinez’s men in all competitions but failed to find the net.

“I’m sorry that things didn’t work out for me.” Said the winger via his Twitter account.

“ I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Everton for making me feel welcome during my time there this past season.

“The fans, the staff and my teammates have all been very supportive. But now I must look forward and am keen to take the next step in my football career. God bless everyone.”

Manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed the club will not be looking to resign the 23-year-old, but did comment: “He will become a very special footballer.”

“Adapting to the Premier League will always take a period; sometimes more, sometimes less.” Said Martinez.

“But Christian is a very, very talented young man and he will become special.”
