Everton 2-1 Bournemouth: Player Ratings

Everton registered their fifth home league victory of the season with a 2-1 win against Bournemouth.

Tom Cleverley opened the scoring with a neat finish after six minutes but the Blues were soon pegged back when Marc Pugh netted moments later to drag the Cherries on level terms.

A superb, controlled finish from Leighton Baines gave Everton all three points, but events at Goodison Park didn’t finish after the final whistle.

A number of Evertonians stayed after full-time in order to protest against Roberto Martinez and Bill Kenwright, and during the match an aeroplane with the message ‘Time to go Roberto NSNO’ flew over the stadium as the Goodison faithful voiced their discontent against the current regime.

There were debuts for Matthew Pennington and Kieran Dowell, while Tony Hibbert delivered a solid performance on his first game for Everton in 511 days.
