Everton agree fee over summer move for international defender

Earlier today, it was reported that Everton are closing in on the signing of Boca Juniors left-back Frank Fabra.

The news indicated that the Toffees are edging ever closer to reaching an agreement with Boca over a deal worth in the region of £4.3m ahead of the summer transfer window.

Now, fresh reports from Italy claim that Fabra will not be moving to Napoli or AC Milan, with both clubs having been linked with the Colombian, as an agreement between Everton and Boca has been reached.

Fabra has enjoyed a good season with Boca but it appears he feels his time in Argentina has come to an end, with a move to Everton now highly likely.

Everton were on the lookout for a left-back in the January transfer window but were unable to secure a deal for any appropriate target. Leighton Baines has since returned, but he is approaching the twilight years of his career.

Fabra could be the first man through the door at Goodison Park ahead of what promises to be a busy summer on Merseyside.
