Everton also considering manager trio as well as Moyes to replace Silva

Everton are considering more managers than just David Moyes to succeed Marco Silva, according to reports.

Reports this morning have claimed that it appears likely that Silva will be sacked today, with Farhad Moshiri and the Everton board meeting this morning to discuss their plan of action.

Many reports claim that Moyes is likely to come in as his replacement, with Tim Cahill potentially as his assistant too. However, there are said to be other names in the frame.

Goal report that while Bill Kenwright’s preference is to appoint Moyes on a short-term basis, Marcel Brands prefers Mikel Arteta, Leonardo Jardim or Erik ten Hag to take over the reigns.

Goal also claim that should Moyes sign on a short-term basis, he will demand a clause in his contract that will trigger an extension if he is able to achieve a top-eight finish in the Premier League.

While Moyes is still the heavy favourite, it does appear as though the club are considering options.

I have said from the very beginning of this messy ordeal that Erik ten Hag would be my preferred replacement for Silva, but there is no way that the Dutchman would look at Everton current situation, with Bayern Munich also circling him, and decide to come to Goodison Park.

Arteta is more realistic, although extremely inexperienced, while Jardim would also be another choice if Everton wanted to explore.

I personally can’t see any other reality than the one where Moyes takes over, but should the club somehow land someone of a higher calibre instead, I’ll be bowled over.
