Everton and Tottenham interested in Geoffrey Kondogbia

Everton and Tottenham are both showing interest in signing Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to reports from Spain.

The midfielder, who has been capped at international level by both France and the Central African Republic, has a £70m release clause in his contract with Valencia, but the Spaniards are reportedly willing to let him leave if a suitable offer comes in, not necessarily one that matches that release figure.

Kondogbia was a reported target for Spurs a few years ago, but a move never materialised, with the London club deciding to persue other deals. However, Jose Mourinho apparently wants to add more depth to his midfield options and as such, Kondogbia’s name is back on Tottenham’s radar.

Carlo Ancelotti has already had a major impact at Everton, helping steer the club away from the relegation zone and his next aim will be to get the Blues competing at the top end of the table.

To do that, he’ll need to make additions to his squad and Kondogbia, given his talent and experience, could be a very good signing to help the Toffees make a push to become a regular European football playing side.
