Premier League side Everton are battling with West Ham United for the signature of Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater on a season-long loan deal, according to a report on the Mirror.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge for £35m last summer, Drinkwater has failed to impress and has found himself sat on the bench for a majority of his first season at the club.
New Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is open to the idea of letting Drinkwater leave on loan and Everton boss Marco Silva has identified the former Leicester City man as a potential target.

Silva is looking to assemble a strong squad to help his side to a top half finish this season and Drinkwater would add quality and strength to his midfield department.
With Muhamed Besic likely to exit Goodison Park on loan, Silva is ready to replace him with Drinkwater, who was one of Leicester’s key players during their Premier League winning season in 2015/16.
The Toffees must act quickly because West Ham are also interested in signing Drinkwater, who made only five Premier League starts last season.
