Everton boss makes assurances over players’ commitment

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has insisted that the players are still behind him despite much of the fan base losing faith in the Toffees boss, according to the Mail.

The club have lost just one of their last seven matches, with the defeat coming against Manchester City, but many fans are still wanting to get rid of the former England boss.

The style of Allardyce’s side has come in for much criticism with the experienced manager having guided the Merseyside club to safety a number of months ago, with the Everton supporters keen to see a more attractive brand of football.

Allardyce’s future at Goodison Park is unclear at this stage, with the former England boss claiming that he is already planning for next season at the club.

The Everton boss spoke about the situation:

Our players are striding forward. This is the best run of points gained since I’ve been here. I had a really good start with the first seven games and now this one.

I think we’ve collected more points this time than then. We’re pushing ourselves as high up in the league as we possibly can.

Our efforts from the players particularly has been fantastic. When you go past that 40-point mark it’s very easy for a player to think about his holidays and actually switch off.
