- Everton gearing up for second summer transfer window under The Friedkin Group.
- Moyes reportedly been given the freedom to spend big in the upcoming window.
- Many names linked with the Toffees, including Championship star Sorba Thomas.
Everton’s upcoming summer transfer window is arguably one of their most important in recent seasons.
After having the freedom to spend relatively big in 2025, the Toffees will look to do the same this year and consolidate on the overall quality of David Moyes’ squad.
The Blues’ lack of depth has been exposed this season, so there will be a priority on ensuring cover for various areas on the pitch.
Moyes has a good track record of recruiting talent from the Championship, and this winger could be the next on his fine list.
Welsh international Sorba Thomas has been linked with Everton
Sorba Thomas has already been linked to Everton, and their interest in the 27-year-old has not cooled.
The Blues are looking to seal Thomas as their first signing of the window, with a price of around £15 million being paired with the winger, according to Sebastien Vidal.
After four seasons in the National League with Boreham Wood, the Welsh international made the large step up to the Championship with Huddersfield in 2021 and has since become an experienced name in the second tier.
| Appearances – 25/26 | Goals | Assists |
| 46 | 10 | 13 |
Thomas also has experience in top division football after spending last season on loan at Nantes, who compete in Ligue 1, but he made the move to Stoke City last summer, where he has been one of their key men.
Although he is primarily a winger, the 27-year-old has experience playing as a wing back, and his work rate in both ends of the pitch makes him useful in both defence and attack.
Thomas would be brought in to strengthen depth
Being linked with Thomas doesn’t exactly come with the same level of pedigree as a name like Jack Grealish, but it would be narrow-minded to rule him out. He could end up being a handy signing for the Toffees.
Everton does not have a bottomless pit of money, and they will have to find some bargains to free up cash to recruit quality into their starting XI.
If Thomas is available for around £15m, this could prove a cost-effective signing for Moyes’ side and allow the Blues to invest more in other players.
