Everton chasing Kannemann

According to Corriere dello Sport, as quoted by Sport Witness, Everton are reportedly interested in signing Walter Kannemann.

The Italian newspaper report that Everton are set to rival Cagliari, who looked almost certain to sign Kannemann this summer, for the player’s signature.

The Toffees are keen to sign a left-footed centre-back this summer and have been chasing the signature of Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.

The 27-year-old has just over a year left on his current deal with Gremio, which expires on 31 December next year.

It is not clear how much Gremio would value the player at but they are unlikely to let him go on the cheap.

However, it is not believed that Marco Silva has yet given up his pursuit of Rojo and could be set to step up his interest in the Argentine international before the transfer window shuts on August 9.
