It is only a matter of time before Morgan Schneiderlin signs for Everton, according to Birmingham Mail journalist Paul Suart.

The Toffees have been in negotiations and according to various reports, Morgan is thought to favour a move to Merseyside over West Bromwich Albion.

According to the report, Manchester United and Everton are willing to meet in the middle on their valuations, with a fee of £22m likely to seal the deal. According to the Birmingham Mail, the Baggies could meet that fee but are resigned to losing the Frenchman who is set on a reunion with Ronald Koeman.

The midfielder has been an Everton target for months after it was decided that the centre of the park was a position that had to be strengthened. With players such as Darren Gibson and Tom Cleverley failing to impress, while Muhamed Besic and James McCarthy remain injured, Koeman and Walsh have identified Schneiderlin as the perfect fit.

One of the Toffees best players this season in Idrissa ‘Gana’ Gueye has also now left for the African Cup of Nations, with Tom Davies and Gareth Barry set to feature against Leicester.

Everton completed their first piece of business on Wednesday, with youngster Ademola Lookman signing from Charlton in a deal thought to be worth £7.5m.
