Everton are interested in Bordeaux forward Josh Maja, according to reports, with the Toffees having scouted the 21-year old.
Despite manager Carlo Ancelotti having claimed recently that he has no intention of signing a new forward in January, reports claim that the Italian could be set to bring more firepower to Goodison Park once the transfer window reopens.
Everton are currently very reliant on Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison as the only firing forwards, with Moise Kean still yet to open his account for the club and with Cenk Tosun on the periphery of the action.
Now reports claim that former Sunderland forward Maja could be on the agenda for the Blues.

Everton were previously linked with the Nigeria international during his time at the Stadium of Light, before he switched League One for Ligue 1 in January 2019.
Now French reporter Ignazio Genuardi (via Star Sport) has revealed that the Blues have been watching Maja’s progress with Les Girondins, with a January offer not out of the question.
Genuardi also claims that the Toffees aren’t the only Premier League club to have turned their attention to Maja.

While at Sunderland, Maja was considered to have huge potential, and Sunderland were gutted to have lost the promising striker. Now at Bordeaux, Maja has done reasonable well, given that he is still so young and still developing.
Bordeaux would likely not let the player leave France on the cheap, so it ultimately comes down to whether Everton should bother paying a premium for someone with little experience.
With Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin and Kean all 22 and under, it doesn’t make much sense to me to sign yet another young player without much experience. If Ancelotti does want a new striker in January, I want him to focus on someone who has some milage in the game, not another up-and-comer.
