Everton have been named as a surprise contender to sign Yaya Toure from Manchester City this summer.
The Manchester Evening News claims that Everton, alongside Burnley and Huddersfield, could all be in with a chance of signing the player, as he wants to stay in the north-west.
Toure is set to leave City at the end of the season after falling out of favour under Pep Guardiola.

The Ivorian is also thought to have lucrative offers from the Chinese Super League to consider but wants to remain in England.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, Guardiola has confirmed that the player will leave the club at the end of the season.
He will not stay next season. The Brighton game we will give him what he deserves. One of the most beautiful farewells a player can receive.
Reports of a move to the MLS have been played down, with Toure keen to continue playing in the Premier League.
During his time at the club, he has won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups, playing a key role in the club’s recent success.
