Everton have moved to dismiss reports that claim Richarlison has been the subject of a sizeable bid from Barcelona, although the club do expect interest in the Brazilian to heat up, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Sky Sports reported on Wednesday that La Liga giants Barca had made a whopping £85million bid for the 22-year old Everton man, which had been swiftly rejected by the Merseyside club.
The report claimed that Everton are hoping to strengthen their squad this month, not deplete it, and so the Brazil international is strictly not for sale.
The Liverpool Echo then reported that Everton had strongly denied that a bid had been made for Richarlison, although the club are now preparing for interest in the former Watford man to intensify.
Football Insider reported in December that, prior to committing himself to the Everton managerial position, Carlo Ancelotti had sought assurances that he could build his team around both Lucas Digne and Richarlison.
Given how paramount the forward has become to Everton, and with Ancelotti wanting to keep him on Merseyside, it would take something exceptionally special to take Richarlison away from Goodison Park.

It would really take something extraordinary for Everton to even consider selling Richarlison, and the club simply aren’t likely to field an offer that is worth enough for the club to sanction a sale.
Richarlison is still just 22, he regularly starts for Brazil, and he signed a new five-year contract as recently as last month. Not to mention, the Brazilian has scored ten goals for the Blues this season (Transfermarkt), and behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin, is the club’s top goalscorer.
While Everton may face offers for the forward before Friday’s deadline day, I would be mightily surprised to see anything offer of note come in.
