Everton have entered the race for the signature of highly-rated Lazio forward Keita Balde Diao, according to a report from Football Italia.
Balde Diao is a product of Barcelona’s famous La Masia youth academy and the forward has been in good form this season, netting 16 times and registering three assists for Lazio in Serie A.
The Senegal international’s contract with Lazio is set to expire in the summer of 2018 and at the moment, there is no indication that the striker will sign a new deal to extend his stay at the club.
Fellow Italian clubs Juventus and AC Milan are also interested in the forward, with reports suggesting that other Premier League clubs are also interested in securing his services, so Everton will have to be quick to secure his signature.
It is reported that Everton have made a formal approach for the forward and are looking to tie up the deal quickly. Everton will have to prepare a decent offer for the forward as Lazio are looking to cash in on the forward this summer.
With the future of current Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku in doubt, Ronald Koeman is already looking for possible replacements and it seems that Balde Diao is the man that he wants to lead the line at Goodison Park next season.
