Everton ‘expect’ Gomes to join on loan

Everton reportedly ‘expect’ to seal the signing of Andre Gomes from Barcelona, according to Jason Burt of The Telegraph.

Burt claims that talks are ongoing over a deal to bring the player to Goodison Park, but the Toffees appear confident of sealing the move.

The player is said to be keen about the prospect of joining Everton, but it remains unclear if the deal includes an option to buy.

Gomes has been heavily linked with moves to the Premier League throughout the summer transfer window, but his future appears to be going right to the wire.

Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham were all believed to be in the running to sign the midfielder, but Everton now look set to win the race to sign him.

Gomes had fallen out of favour at the Nou Camp and was expected to leave the club as the La Liga champions go about trimming their squad.
