Everton join Premier League rivals in chasing former Manchester City attacking midfielder Rony Lopes, with the Portugal international a late target for the Toffees.
The 23-year old left the reigning Premier League champions in 2015 for Monaco, where he has repeatedly voiced his desire to one day return to the English top flight.
According to L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) he may soon have the opportunity to do so, with Everton, West Ham and Newcastle all said to be interested in bringing him back to British shores.

However the talented creator also has admirers across the continent, with Roma, Sevilla and Valencia keeping tabs on the starlets progress.
Lopes would expect to cost around €25million this summer and while Sevilla lead the race, don’t be surprised to see Premier League clubs ramp up their interest ahead of the impending transfer deadline.

I’ll be honest, I’m not too clued up on the domestic form of Lopes, save for when he was regarded as a hot prospect at the Etihad. His signing would leave me in the dark in regards to his ability, however many times in the past that hasn’t proved to be a problem.
Everton are still looking for midfield options and attacking options, and should Lopes be able to fill one or even both of those roles, his signing could be a solid option given the modest price. However, I would sooner see more players with more Premier League experience brought to Goodison Park.
If Lopes isn’t being brought in to directly fill one of those two spots, his signing seems unnecessary.
