Everton fans are pleased with the club’s line-up to face Brighton

Many Everton fans have rejoiced at Marco Silva’s line-up to face Brighton at the Amex this afternoon.

The Toffees have made just one change from the team that started against West Ham last week, with Mason Holgate replacing the injured and unavailable Yerry Mina.

Theo Walcott retains his place on Everton’s right-hand side, while Tom Davies and Andre Gomes occupy the midfield places, with returning duo Fabian Delph and Morgan Schneiderlin on the bench.

Seamus Coleman also comes back into the match-day squad among the substitutes, with the club having no central defensive options on the bench.

With many fans having worried that Silva would reintroduce Coleman, Delph and Schneiderlin at the first opportunity, plenty took to social media to express their delight with the line-up.

It is great to see Silva keep faith with a winning side for this game, because those who performed deserved to keep their place.

It is a shame that we don’t get to see Lewis Gibson promoted to the bench, but we cannot have it all, and I’m pleased to see the likes of Tom Davies, Djibril Sidibe and Theo Walcott being trusted to perform.

Hopefully Mason Holgate can fill in adequately in Yerry Mina’s absence, too.
