It is fair to say that Oumar Niasse has endured a mixed time on Merseyside since signing for Everton in 2016.
The former Lokomotiv Moscow striker was signed in January of that year with plenty of hope and promise, but the Senegal international struggled to show the quality that earned him his Premier League switch.
When Ronald Koeman replaced Roberto Martinez, the forward was banished from the first team in humiliating fashion, although struggles in the squad saw him return and embarrass his manager by performing well for the club.

Under Marco Silva, Niasse once again disappeared from the first team picture, with the 29-year old having not appeared in a single match-day squad this season.
With Everton currently facing consistency issues in the Premier League while they also languish in 17th place in the table, the Liverpool Echo have posed the question, could Oumar Niasse be the answer?
Responding on Twitter, several Everton fans made their opinion of the forward clear by answering their own questions instead.
Twitter: @LivEchoEFC Pound for pound who’s the worst signing we’ve made? then Niasse would be the answer (@Leeefc56)
Twitter: @LivEchoEFC The answer to what, to do andre’s shopping while he’s laid up? Because there is little else he’s the answer to (@Ny26Vincent)
Twitter: @LivEchoEFC Only if the question is “Which Everton striker has less finesse than a rhinoceros?” (@HarryBlackburn2)
Twitter: @LivEchoEFC Is the question “who should be moved on ASAP to stop blocking academy player’s pathways to the first team?” (@the_alexpeace)
Twitter: @LivEchoEFC Only if the question is who should we get to bring the oranges on at half time (@goodisonlad29)
Twitter: @LivEchoEFC Never been the answer, never will be the answer. Seems a nice lad but not near EPL standard. (@PMRea71)

I echo the sentiments of other Everton fans, that while Oumar Niasse is a consummate professional and decent bloke by all accounts, he doesn’t have the requisite ability to play for Everton any longer.
Niasse helped the club out on several occasions where quality was in short supply, but with the resources now behind the club, Everton do not need to rely on the likes of Niasse to provide that boost.
In January, Everton will likely target more offensive recruits, and that will inevitably rubber stamp the end of Niasse’s Everton career.
