Everton fans praise Baines’ quality following assist at Man United

Leighton Baines made a quick impact after coming on for Everton in their Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

The 35-year-old was introduced in the first half of the Blues’ trip to Old Trafford, following an injury to Lucas Digne.

Although there was no doubt concern when the Frenchman was forced off, given his influence, Baines swiftly displayed his lingering quality.

The left-back’s whipped corner led to Victor Lindelof diverting the ball into his own net, giving Everton a 1-0 lead.

These Blues supporters were quick to laud Baines for his set-piece quality on Twitter.

It has been another positive performance from Everton so far, with a rare lead at Old Trafford to enjoy.

There is still a huge amount of work to do, however, as Duncan Ferguson looks for a second consecutive win in the league.

To beat Chelsea and United back-to-back would be a great achievement by the stand-in Everton manager.
