Andre Gomes was always going to be Everton’s highest priority signing this summer, following the midfielder’s impact last season.
Brought in on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona, while the Portugal international was carrying an injury, it was difficult to predict how much of an impact the 26-year old would have after he had been deemed a flop at the Nou Camp.
However, the former Valencia man excelled on Merseyside, and it wasn’t long before the star endeared himself to the Goodison Park faithful.
Having joined permanently this summer for just £22million, the midfielder remains one of the best bargain signings of the season, and although he hasn’t begun the season as confidently as fans would hope, many have still thrown love his way.
Responding to Gomes’ recent post on Twitter, it is clear to see that many Everton fans still hold the midfielder in high regard.
