Everton fans wants Mourinho following reports that he wants a Premier League job

Jose Mourinho is keen on returning to the Premier League as he looks for a new club, according to reports.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss harbours ambitions of winning major trophies with a third Premier League club, having already won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, four League Cups and one Europa League title over his career with both Premier League giants combined.

With the managers of Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton all coming under severe pressure, the Portuguese coach has been considered as a potential option for all three, while other clubs across Europe have reportedly made contact.

However according to Sky Sports News, Mourinho is only interested in the Premier League, having rejected Benfica in January and a Chinese club in the summer.

Sky’s report also dismisses claims that Mourinho is holding out for a return to former club Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane struggling to recapture the form or his first tenure as Los Blancos boss.

Mourinho has been a popular candidate among Everton fans to succeed Marco Silva, and many supporters have become excited following Sky’s report, taking to Twitter to express their feelings on the situation.

Read Everton Verdict

Mourinho’s desire to win major trophies could see him rule out Everton as an option, if he hadn’t already done that out of hand.

I have mixed thoughts on Mourinho becoming Everton manager, because on one hand he is a vastly talented manager with a sparkling resume, but on the other I’m concerned that with limited resources and without European football as a pulling power, he could struggle.

That being said, I don’t think Mourinho would consider Everton anyway. He’d like have plenty more appealing options that he’d explore, whether Everton were interested or not.
