Everton given boost ahead of City with returning duo

Everton have been given a massive boost ahead of their crucial Capital One Cup semi-final second leg away to Manchester City after it was revealed that first-team duo James McCarthy and Seamus Coleman were likely to be fit ahead of the clash, according to the Daily Post.

The Toffees will head into the second leg at the Etihad 2-1 up on aggregate after an excellent victory in the first leg with immense confidence  and the return of Republic of Ireland international duo Coleman and McCarthy will only improve morale.

Despite Roberto Martinez confirming that he expects the pair to be fully fit for the midweek trip to Manchester City, the Spaniard confirmed that they would not be risked in Everton’s upcoming match against struggling Swansea to ensure that his two pivotal players are fresh and ready to face the game that lies between Everton and Wembley.

James McCarthy and Seamus Coleman are both progressing really well and I expect those two to be back in the squad after this full week.

Martinez and his Everton side will be hoping that they can grind out a result against a dangerous  Manchester City team to reach the final of the Capital One Cup.
