Everton in the Community has joined forces with Hill Dickinson to launch a new initiative aimed at helping children across the Liverpool City Region develop healthier lifestyles.
The Healthy Habits programme will work with primary school-aged children, focusing on food, physical activity, sleep and mental wellbeing. The aim is to give youngsters the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to make healthier choices that can support their long-term wellbeing.
The initiative is supported by Hill Dickinson as part of the law firm’s landmark naming-rights partnership with Everton and forms part of its wider community strategy focused on creating brighter futures for children and young people.
Healthy Habits launched at Hill Dickinson Stadium
More than 60 pupils from local schools attended the official launch at Hill Dickinson Stadium on 1 October, taking part in a day of interactive health and wellbeing activities.
Hill Dickinson CEO Craig Scott and Everton in the Community CEO Sue Gregory welcomed the youngsters and spoke about the new partnership and the importance of helping children develop healthy habits from an early age.
The programme will now work with primary school children across the Liverpool City Region, extending the impact of Everton’s official charity into communities surrounding the club’s new waterfront home. It also provides another example of the wider role Hill Dickinson Stadium can play for Everton away from matchdays.
The move to the waterfront was always about more than providing the men’s first team with a new home. Initiatives such as Healthy Habits offer an early indication of how the stadium and the partnerships surrounding it can also benefit the next generation in the local community.
