Everton interested in Crystal Palace defender

According to Phil Kirkbride of the Liverpool Echo, Everton are interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann, should Southampton boss Ronald Koeman take the reigns at Goodison Park.

The Blues are confident that they’ll be able to announce Koeman as Roberto Martinez’s successor this week, but are currently locked in talks about a compensation fee for Southampton.

The Dutch manager is going to earn around £6m-a-year at Merseyside club, and will be given a reported £100m to spend this summer, a record amount for Everton.

The Toffees are preparing to receive a lot of interest for striker Romelu Lukaku this summer, with Chelsea amongst those said to be interested in the Belgian’s services.

On the other hand, Eagles defender Scott Dann is subject of interest from Everton, who could be used as a potential replacement for fellow English central-defender John Stones, should he depart Goodison.

The South London Club would want £15m for their defender who had a solid 2015/16 campaign but even then, they are reluctant to lose their man.
