Jordan Pickford, James Garner and Jarrad Branthwaite finished the break together on the Wembley pitch as England beat Czechia 3-0, while Tyler Dibling scored for England Under-21s earlier on Tuesday.

Jake O’Brien and Brennan Johnson accumulated significant minutes for the Republic of Ireland and Wales respectively, while Vitalii Mykolenko returned to Everton early after making one appearance for Ukraine.

Pickford, Branthwaite and Garner – England

Everton finished the international break with three players on the pitch together for England at Wembley.

Pickford started Tuesday’s 3-0 Nations League victory over Czechia and completed another clean sheet, having also played the full 90 minutes of the 7-0 win over Croatia.

Garner and Branthwaite were both introduced after 63 minutes against Czechia, meaning all three Everton players shared the pitch for the closing stages.

Garner therefore featured three times during the break after also coming off the bench against Spain and Croatia. Branthwaite made two substitute appearances, while Pickford completed 180 minutes without conceding.

Johnson featured in all four of Wales’ Nations League matches, starting three and accumulating 263 minutes.

The Everton forward played the full 90 minutes of the opening 1-0 defeat against Portugal before completing 83 minutes of the 2-0 loss to Denmark.

Johnson was rested from the starting XI against Norway but came on after 76 minutes as Wales won 2-1. He returned to the XI against Denmark and played 76 minutes of the 1-0 defeat.

O’Brien plays in all four Ireland games

O’Brien featured in all four of the Republic of Ireland’s Nations League matches.

The defender completed the opening defeat against Kosovo and subsequent victory over Israel before being given a rest from the starting XI against Austria.

O’Brien came on for the final 16 minutes of that game and then returned to the XI for the 1-1 draw with Israel, completing another 90 minutes.

He returns to Everton with 286 international minutes from four appearances, three of them starts.

Mykolenko returns early from Ukraine duty

Mykolenko’s international break ended after one appearance for Ukraine.

The left-back completed the full 90 minutes as Ukraine opened their Nations League programme with a 1-0 victory over Hungary in Budapest.

He subsequently missed the draw with Georgia and defeat against Northern Ireland after Ukraine’s coaching staff revealed he wasn’t feeling well enough to play.

Mykolenko returned to Everton early, leaving his condition something for Moyes to assess before Sunday’s Premier League trip to Hull City.

Dibling scores as three Everton youngsters feature

Everton’s England Under-21 contingent provided one of the most encouraging stories of the international break.

Dibling started Tuesday’s final qualifier against the Republic of Ireland and opened the scoring after seven minutes, arriving at the far post after Divin Mubama’s effort was diverted across goal.

Ireland recovered to win 3-1, but there was further Everton involvement when Armstrong and George were both introduced after 61 minutes.

That meant Dibling, Armstrong and George spent more than 20 minutes on the pitch together before Dibling was withdrawn after 82 minutes.

Armstrong began the international window with England Under-20s, playing the full game in the 3-1 victory over Italy before coming on after 59 minutes in the 2-1 win against France.

He was then promoted into Lee Carsley’s Under-21 squad and made his debut from the bench against Ireland.

England had already secured qualification for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship before the defeat in Cork.

Graham gets Northern Ireland U21 opportunity

Graham spent Northern Ireland’s four-match Nations League programme with Michael O’Neill’s senior squad but remained unused throughout.

The 18-year-old was on the bench against Georgia, Hungary and Ukraine before again missing out on senior minutes in Monday’s 0-0 draw with Georgia at Windsor Park.

His international break wasn’t finished, however.

Graham subsequently joined Northern Ireland Under-21s and started Tuesday’s European Championship qualifier against Greece at Mourneview Park.

The Everton striker led the line in the 1-0 defeat and had several efforts on goal, including a first-half shot saved by Greece goalkeeper Dimitrios Monastirlis.

It meant Graham finally got competitive minutes at the end of a window in which he had spent valuable time around O’Neill’s senior set-up.

Everton turn attention back to Hull City

The international programme can finally be put to one side.

Everton emerge from the break with Pickford having kept two England clean sheets, O’Brien and Johnson having collected substantial senior minutes and Dibling returning with a goal.

Garner and Branthwaite added to their senior England experience, while Armstrong made his Under-21 debut and Graham ended his long wait for minutes by starting for Northern Ireland Under-21s.

Mykolenko’s fitness is the main issue requiring clarification as Moyes begins bringing his squad back together at Finch Farm.

The focus now switches fully to club football and Sunday’s trip to Hull City.
