Everton will battle Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham for the signature of Colombian midfielder Wilmar Barrios.
According to TyC Sports, the Toffees are the latest team to express an interest in the Boca Juniors star.
The 24-year-old is believed to have a release clause of €18 million and could make a move to the Premier League in the new year.
There had been some suggestions that the player was on his way to Chelsea in January, but a deal does not appear to be as straightforward.
Tottenham themselves have reportedly been monitoring the player for some time.
Barrios has drawn comparisons to N’Golo Kante in the past and is attracting a lot of Premier League interest.
The player caught the headlines in Russia against England when he appeared to headbutt Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson whilst defending a free-kick.
