Everton are reportedly keen on a move for Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio this summer.
According to a report from Italian news outlet Calciomercato, the Toffees are looking to bolster their defensive reinforcements and will look to do so by moving in for the Argentinian centre-back.
Musacchio has been the linchpin in Villarreal’s defence for some time now and has continuously impressed at the back in La Liga with consistently good performances, but a summer move could now be on the cards.
The Argentina international is now in the last year of his deal with the Spanish side and if no new contract is signed before the summer, Villarreal may look to offload him in order to recoup some money from the sale.
Ronald Koeman is stated to be a huge admirer of the ball-playing defender but it would take a massive fee to bring him to Goodison Park, with a figure of £21 million being quoted by Calciomercato.
