Everton and Leicester battle for New York City wide man

Everton are joined by Leicester City and Brighton in their interest in New York City FC winger Jack Harrison, according to the Daily Mail.

The young wide man has been in terrific form out in the United States, and is catching the eye of several clubs across Europe ahead of the January transfer window.

Harrison’s recent performances have earned him call-ups to the England Under-21 squad, with his stock seemingly rising with NYCFC.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a good season in America, and contributed with a highly respectable total of 20 goals despite New York City’s underwhelming end to the campaign.

It’s claimed by the Daily Mail that Harrison is valued at a mere £6 million by his current club; a transfer fee that Everton would have no issues paying given their financial muscle.

However, it’s likely that Brighton would be able to offer Harrison more regular game time, with Leicester retaining potent wide options.

Everton are short of wide options and will look to strengthen in January, perhaps through the addition of Harrison.
