Everton to line up move for Anthony Knockaert

Everton are reportedly going to move for newly promoted Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert as they look to seek a plausible solution to cope with the loss of Yannick Bolasie.

Sources close to Knockaert himself have reportedly told ESPN about the news concerning the possible move. An advantage for Everton’s target to get the player to join is that the current director of football Steve Walsh already knows him due to Knockaert previously being signed under him whilst he was a scout at Leicester City.

So, he will already have built up a relationship with the player which could help Everton manage to persuade him to make the switch from the south of England up to Merseyside.

Although the winger was just given a new deal in March, Brighton are looking to try to keep their group of players from their season in the Championship together. But, Everton will try and tempt the club to let them take their key asset by laying down a reported offer in excess of £20 million to bring the Championship Player of the Year to Goodison Park when the transfer window opens in the coming summer.
