Everton linked with surprise Origi swoop

According to a report from Turkish media outlet Aksam, Everton are considering a January swoop for Liverpool striker Divock Origi.

The Belgian international’s future at Anfield appears to be in doubt following his failure to secure a summer move recently. Origi has been linked with several clubs and, in surprising new claims, Everton are the latest to be touted.

Marco Silva is said to be keen on making further attacking additions in the January transfer window as he looks to push his side into contention for the Europa League places.

Aksam’s report indicates that if Everton are able to complete what seems to be an unlikely deal for Origi, they will consider offloading Cenk Tosun to Besiktas.

The Turkey international joined the Toffees only at the start of the year from Besiktas, however, it’s been widely reported in his homeland that a return could be on the cards.

Origi, meanwhile, finds himself far down the pecking order of strikers at Liverpool’s disposal, with a January departure looking all but certain.
