According to Dutch news outlet AD, Everton are interested in signing Bas Dost from Sporting CP in this transfer window.
Sporting are currently in a very bad predicament, with certain players, including Dost, being attacked at the training ground. This has led to a number of stars being linked with an exit from the Portuguese club, with several set to depart Sporting this summer.
Director of Football at Everton, Marcel Brands, knows all about the striker’s qualities, and he could use his power to bring in Dost at Goodison Park for Marco Silva’s first season at The Toffees.
Dost is one player who many will be looking at. The imposing striker is a master at first-time finishing, and with a massive frame, he would suit the Premier League’s physical nature. This may be why Everton and Newcastle have been linked with the Dutch striker for a long time.
The Toffees are out to strengthen their attacking options and it would certainly be an interesting signing if they manage to land Dost.
