Everton make approach to sign James Léa-Siliki

Everton have approached Rennes over a deal to sign French midfielder James Léa-Siliki, with Borussia Dortmund also believed to be keen.

According to L’Équipe, as cited on Get French Football, both clubs, as well as a side from outside of Europe’s top six leagues have made their interest known to the club.

Benfica are also believed to be in the running to sign the 22-year-old from the Ligue 1 outfit.

Rennes are desperate to keep hold of Léa-Siliki and are refusing to do business this summer.

The French youth international only joined the club last summer but impressed during his first season with Rennes, scoring three times, while also assisting three goals too.

Everton have been looking to step up their summer transfer business recently, with only Richarlison joining the club this summer.

Lucas Digne is close to joining from Barcelona and Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo is being heavily linked with a move.
