Race to sign Wilson

Everton are reportedly “well-placed” to win the battle for Fulham’s Welsh international midfielder, Harry Wilson.

The 29-year-old has been in excellent form this season, stacking up 10 goals and six assists. While Leeds are also said to still be interested after Fulham cooled on the prospect of signing him, Moyes has identified more invention as a summer priority.

With the Toffees in a good place, the potential lure of European football at the Hill Dickinson could tilt the balance in Everton’s favour. Wilson’s contract is expiring in June, so watch this space.

Richards on Garner

BBC and Sky pundit Micah Richards has been wholesome in his praise of Everton’s resurgence, and highlighted specifically the role played in it by James Garner. Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Richards concluded that the Toffees are “building something special”.

He described the former Man Utd player as a vital cog in what is now a young, energetic midfield alongside the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Tim Iroegbunam. Richards believes that Garner’s versatility, physicality and intelligence are central to the club’s long-term plans, and, on a personal level, his England prospects.

Designer of Hill Dickinson with 1878 tattoo

Once just an American-based architect, Dan Meis is now a bona-fide Toffee. The connection between the club, its new home, and the lead architect of the Hill Dickinson is now deeply personal.

Meis has spoken many times of his decade-long Bramley -Moore Dock to Hill Dickinson Stadium journey as being emotional, but has now taken it to the next level.

To commemorate the project and his newfound passion for Everton FC, he recently revealed a permanent tribute: a “1878” tattoo on his wrist.

During the project, Meis completely immersed himself in Everton’s heritage and ensured the brick and steel design was reflective of the soul of the club’s founding year. He now has a permanent reminder.

Gueye’s comments on chasing a Champions League place

Following the dominant 3-0 victory over Chelsea just before the international break, Idrissa Gana Gueye addressed the growing talk of a top-four finish for the Toffees.

While the win moved Everton up to within reach of the Champions League places, the veteran midfielder called for “calm.”

He emphasised the need for players not to look too far ahead and keep their feet on the ground, and to continue playing for the fans. He stated, “We just enjoy playing football and winning games, and we will see at the end of the season.”

Toffees linked with Mario Gila

Defensive reinforcements could be on their way to the Hill Dickinson this summer, with the Toffees reportedly in a race with Atletico Madrid and AC Milan to sign Lazio’s Mario Gila.

The 25-year-old former Real Madrid academy player has impressed in Serie A this season with some dominant performances, backed up by some exceptional recovery pace and tactical nous.

Reports suggest Everton may have an “agent advantage” in negotiations as the player shares an agent with Adam Aznou.
