Six Everton players could feature on final night of international break

Six Everton players could be involved on Tuesday as the club’s international break reaches its final night.

Jordan Pickford, Jarrad Branthwaite and James Garner remain with England’s senior squad for the Nations League meeting with Czechia at Wembley. Tyler Dibling, Tyrique George and Harrison Armstrong could also feature for England Under-21s against the Republic of Ireland in Cork.

Once those games are complete, David Moyes should finally have the last of his international contingent heading back towards Finch Farm.

Six Everton players could feature

Pickford looks to have the strongest claim for another senior start after returning to the England XI for Saturday’s 7-0 victory over Croatia. The Everton goalkeeper played the full 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet.

Garner also featured in Rijeka, replacing Alex Scott for the final 20 minutes plus stoppage time. Scott has since withdrawn from the squad, leaving Garner available for Thomas Tuchel’s final selection of the international break.

Branthwaite was unused against Croatia after making a late appearance in the earlier defeat by Spain.

Before the senior game, attention turns to Cork. Dibling and George have both featured twice for England Under-21s during the break, while Armstrong was promoted from the Under-20 squad after withdrawals and was an unused substitute against Slovakia on Friday.

England secured qualification for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship with that goalless draw, potentially giving Lee Carsley scope to make changes for the final qualifier.

The Under-21 game will be streamed exclusively on the England app in the UK and Northern Ireland, while England’s senior game is live on ITV.

For Moyes, the priority will be getting all six back to Finch Farm in good shape as attention turns back towards Premier League football.
