Everton’s preparations for the 2026-27 season have begun, with a number of first-team players returning to Finch Farm for the opening phase of pre-season.
The club shared footage on social media of players arriving at the training ground on Friday as David Moyes and his coaching staff welcomed the first group back following the summer break.
Among those featured were new signings Merlin Röhl and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, both reporting for their first pre-season as Everton players. Tim Iroegbunam was also shown returning, alongside defender James Tarkowski as work began ahead of the new campaign.
The initial group comprises players who were not involved in the latter stages of international football this summer, with those given extended leave after World Cup duty expected to report back later in pre-season.
The coming weeks will focus on rebuilding fitness and integrating new arrivals before Everton begin their programme of friendly fixtures, giving Moyes his first opportunity to assess his squad ahead of the Premier League season.
After a busy start to the transfer window, attention will now turn to preparations on the training pitch as Everton continue their build-up to the new campaign.
