Everton reportedly want Arsene Wenger to take club’s manager role

Everton are reportedly set to offer departing Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger the job as the club’s manager as they plan to get rid of Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce has only been at Goodison Park since November, but it looks like his stay is going to be cut short when the season ends, according to the Daily Star.

Wenger has publicly said that he has received numerous offers since announcing that he is leaving the Gunners after 22 years, but has not confirmed his future plans.

When asked about his future, Wenger did admit that he wants to continue to work:

I don’t look very good on the beach. I don’t know how long I can carry on. How long would I like to? As long as I feel I want to. But overall people look at your age and make an issue of it. It becomes a bit discrimination. They don’t really look how you work and perform. They look and say, ‘Oh, he is old’. I can understand that as I thought the same when I was young.

Having a manager with the success and experience of Wenger would be a big boost to the Toffees as they hope to improve on thier league position and secure a European sport next year.

matchday.
