Everton are preparing to battle Chelsea for the signature of Swansea striker Fernando Llorente, according to ESPN.
The Spanish striker enjoyed a successful campaign with the Swans last season, establishing himself as a key man under Paul Clement. He played a key part in the Welsh side’s survival in the top flight.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for the former Athletic Bilbao front man for a while now, given Antonio Conte’s clear admiration of the Spaniard from the pair’s time at Juventus.

However, Everton appear to have joined the race for the experienced striker, as Ronald Koeman ramps up his quest to land a new attacker by the end of the deadline.
The Toffees are yet to sufficiently replace Romelu Lukaku, who secured a big-money move to Manchester United earlier on in the window, and appear now to have identified Llorente as a potential signing.
Swansea will no doubt be keen to retain the powerful striker’s services, but Koeman evidently wants to reunite Llorente with his ex-Swans teammate Gylfi Sigurdsson at Goodison Park.
