Everton are claimed to have sent scouts out to France to watch over Saint-Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier in recent weeks.
According to a report from French news outlet GFFN today, the experienced shot-stopper is high in demand over in the Premier League, and Everton are one of the teams interested in moving in for him.
However, they will have stiff competition if they are looking to pursue their interest in Ruffier. The report from GFFN states that Everton are joined by rivals Liverpool and top flight competitors West Ham in their interest in the 30-year-old.
Ruffier is regarded as one of Ligue 1’s most prominent goalkeepers, having consistently impressed during his tenure with Saint-Etienne.
Everton could be keen on bringing in a new goalkeeper at Goodison Park when the summer transfer window rolls around, with Ronald Koeman likely to move in for an upgrade on both Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles when the opportunity arises.
