Wayne Rooney has all but confirmed his move to the MLS with a tweet showing the forward leaving for America.
The former England captain has tweeted a picture of him on a plane, with his move to DC United expected to be confirmed later today.

Rooney has been widely expected to leave the club this summer as Everton look to trim their wage bill.
The former Manchester United forward leaves Goodison Park after just one season back at his boyhood club.
The 32-year-old did enjoy a relatively successful return to Everton, scoring 10 times in the Premier League last season.
However, Marco Silva is now looking to put his own stamp on the Everton and the deal to sell Rooney frees up valuable wages that can be used in further transfer business.
