Everton step up interest in €40m forward as official flies out to watch him

Everton have stepped up their interest in FC Porto forward Moussa Marega, according to reports.

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, as translated by team at Sport Witness, suggest that the Blues have sent officials to watch the Malian international in action in recent weeks and that the Toffees’ interest in the striker is concrete.

The 26-year-old has scored 20 league goals in 25 games for the Dragons this season and alongside Cameroonian Vincent Aboubakar and Yacine Brahimi of Algeria, has been part of an exhilarating African attacking trio.

Everton, despite splashing the cash on Cenk Tosun, are still lacking goals and the arrival of Marega could help them find the back of the net on a more regular basis.

The striker has a €40million release clause in his contract with Porto and as such, the Portuguese giants are not expected to entertain any offers which fall below that amount as they are in no rush to let him leave.
